Purpose
Why does this website exist? There are several reasons, although the home page is a pretty good summary of what I am doing here.
The first reason is the existence of social networking on virtually all digital publishing platforms, which restrains the mind to act in specific ways. The systems are designed for audiences and writers, therefore every writer is bound to a fictional version of their imagined audience. I believe this is a vital part of all trades requiring wordcraft, yet is not the most optimal when seeking to find ideas within words and symbols.
I wrote on alternative platforms for a while, engaging with a variety of ideas across different domains and trying to write something that I could not find and read anywhere else. That is the same mindset that I bring to my craft now: to write what I seek to read. What an audience thinks of my ideas in the intellectual space is a fact I remain indifferent toward. I used to think that writing to appease an audience was the key. On an independent digital publishing platform, I am able to let go of that feeling and simply write for myself and curate an archive along the way.
Another reason is that platforms rely on categorizing your work to make data-driven decisions in terms of what to and what not to show a user. When writing of ideas inherently esoteric, these categorizations necessarily fail as there is no clear delineation that would separate one domain from another. In fact, another key principle I remember when writing is to synthesize when nothing else is a possibility. Unsurprisingly, a lot of clever solutions were found in the act of synthesis made simply on an ad hoc basis, which is also the approach that software people take in the industry toward systems design. That is perhaps a remnant of my studies and work in the area.
Lastly, I believe that innovation is necessary for the sustenance of human civilization through time. In domains where my professional life appears very much to be personal, I believe that the same maxim of innovation applies. Thus, even in my own time I seek to approximate a system of innovation and growth to keep learning from the canvas of my own mind.
